Caffeine More Dangerous Than Most Would Think

Many people turn to caffeine when they have a lot to do and are short on sleep. However, they need to start being careful with caffeine in its pure form, because it has shown itself to be deadly in certain cases. Caffeine powder is sold as a dietary supplement and is not regulated by the law to any significant extent. It is available from a few stores, as well as numerous online vendors. It is typically marketed to people who are interested in health and fitness, along with protein supplements and vitamins.

People who use caffeine in its pure form generally do not know how powerful it is. Susan McGalla recently learned that just one teaspoon of caffeine powder is equivalent to about 16 to 25 cups of coffee, and 10 grams, which amounts to a tablespoon, of caffeine powder, is a fatal dose for the average adult.

The Food and Drug Administration issued a warning this past July that suggested that consumers avoid caffeine powder, after a couple of deaths of young men had taken place due to caffeine powder.

The federal government has not yet imposed restrictions on the sale of caffeine in its pure form, but many forces are fighting to have restrictions put into place. They are arguing that caffeine is much more dangerous than people think, and further injuries and deaths due to caffeine pills and powder need to be prevented for everyone’s sake.
