Folgers’s Announces Their New High End Coffee

The Folger Coffee Company will start selling a newer style of coffee with the brand name 1850 this April. This premium line will have a bolder flavor and packaging with a cool vintage look.

The name 1850 pays tribute to the era in which the coffee company was founded during California’s gold rush in the 1850s. The special blend of Arabica coffee beans are steel cut and fire roasted to perfection for a cup of java with a distinctively smooth taste.

This new version from Folgers will be available in K-Cup pods as well as in 12 ounce bags in a choice of either ground or whole beans. A ready-to-drink variety will hit the market later this summer. There will be four different blends to chose from, which include a light roast called Lantern Glow, a medium roast called Pioneer Blend, a medium to dark roast named Trailblazer, and a dark roast called Black Gold.

For added shelf appeal, the design of the nostalgic line was inspired by the original packaging and features a waxed seal on the bags. The Folgers Coffee Company has been in business for over 160 years and is owned by the J.M. Smucker Company. Today’s customers prefer a bold flavor that isn’t bitter, which is why Folgers believes 1850 will be a hit with their dedicated drinkers as well as millennials trying it for the first time.
